Vibrations? Steering wheel shimmy? Pressure loss?
We identify, document and eliminate run-out damage. Laser measurement captures wheel and tyre in a single measuring pass to 1/100 mm and delivers an inspection report that makes every decision traceable.
- 1/100 mmmeasuring accuracy of the laser measurement
- 5CCD cameras capture tyre and wheel with 3D laser stripes
- €40laser measurement per wheel incl. report
What the laser measurement captures
Wheel data
Diameter and width, spoke count and spoke position, position of the balance weights.
Wheel run-out
Radial run-out left and right, lateral run-out left and right.
Tyre
Radial run-out of the tyre, tread depth at five positions, tread deviations and weight distribution.
Wheel inspection prices
Car and motorcycle wheels, per wheel including 19% VAT.
| Inspection | Price per wheel | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Visual inspection | €0 | without vehicle |
| Laser measurement | €40 | with inspection report, also digital |
| Crack test | €75 | dye penetrant method |
Fair repair: if the inspected wheel is subsequently repaired by us, we offset the laser measurement against the repair price. Measurement is only possible without a tyre fitted; for complete wheels, fitting costs are added. Complete wheels by appointment only, loose wheels at any time without an appointment. Motorcycle: run-out check from a 43 mm centre bore diameter, deformed motorcycle wheels only when removed from the bike.
The inspection report
After measurement you receive a measurement report, digitally if you wish. It documents radial and lateral run-out of wheel and tyre as well as the wheel data and forms the basis for the decision: straighten, repair or replace. Reshaping is only possible if the deviation is within the tenth-of-a-millimetre range.
We use the same procedures to check repaired alloy wheels. The documentation enables us to give a warranty on repaired alloy wheels.

Irreparable deformations
These wheels could not be repaired for safety reasons. The inspection protects you from a repair that will not last.
Questions about wheel inspection
When is a wheel inspection worthwhile?
With driving problems such as vibrations or steering wheel shimmy, after hitting kerbs or potholes, and as a matter of principle before every repair to rule out structural damage.
Is the inspection possible without tyres?
Yes, and for laser measurement it is actually required. We remove the tyres from complete wheels, measure them and refit and balance them on request.
When is the crack test necessary?
Whenever a crack is suspected, for example after severe deformation, deep kerb damage or if a wheel has already been repaired. The dye penetrant method makes even fine cracks visible.
Repair or replace?
Slight run-out errors in the tenth-of-a-millimetre range are straightened without stressing the material structure. Cracks, severe deformation and material removal above 0.5 mm mean replacement. The report shows you why.
