Alloy wheels

Wheels we develop, manufacture and coat ourselves.

Mainhattan-Wheels Leichtmetallräder GmbH manufactures its wheel collection using low-pressure casting and flow forming: maximum load rating with low weight. The complete surface finishing takes place in our wheel machining centre in Dietzenbach.

Everything under one roof

In manufacturing our wheel collection we rely on the low-pressure casting and flow forming processes to achieve maximum load rating combined with low weight. The complete surface finishing takes place in our own wheel machining centre in Germany, on the same machines we use to repair and refinish customer wheels.

Alongside manufacturing technology, design development plays the decisive role. Our motto: they have to be beautiful, big and light. The company is dedicated exclusively to the development of modern wheel designs. In addition to our own designs, we specialise in realising customer projects and support our customers from the first sketch to the finished product.

Monte Carlo: from motorsport to the road

The Monte Carlo M motorsport wheel was developed for the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Its success prompted us to launch a road version with the same motorsport genes: the forged wheel Monte Carlo F.

Monte Carlo M (motorsport)

Use
Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), BMW 330i G20
Manufacture
Flow forming: high strength, low weight, reduced production costs
Aerodynamics
Spoke shape optimised taking ventilation drag into account
Pit stop
Bolt pattern double-drilled for quick wheel changes
Success
Adrenalin Motorsport VT2 champion 2020 at the first attempt on the Monte Carlo M
Availability
Motorsport only

Flow forming keeps costs in check. This keeps motorsport affordable for private teams too.

Monte Carlo F (forged wheel, road)

Size
8.5×19 inch, ET45
Weight
8.4 kg with above-average strength
Hub mounting
10-hole, in keeping with the motorsport wheel
Blank
Forged aluminium blank from a specially developed alloy
Spokes
Back-milled and back-turned: material with no effect on strength and load rating is removed, reducing unsprung mass
Brake clearance
Large brakes taken into account, e.g. the ceramic brake system of the Audi RS3
Surface
Powder and wet paints of the highest quality from the in-house coating facility
Production run

Technology and development

Technology wheels up to 24 inch for cars, SUVs and motorsport

In addition to developing and manufacturing our own wheel designs, we specialise in realising customer projects. Your idea is our brief.

  • Customer projects from 100 pieces

As a rule we develop customer wheels from a minimum quantity of 100. Development, drawing, testing and tooling costs are only spread sensibly from a certain quantity. We mill small series in-house from the blank and can therefore offer attractive prices here too.

  • Bolt pattern and offset to your specification

Since we manufacture the wheels largely in-house, we take your specifications into account individually. This applies not only to bolt pattern and offset: in the multi-axis machining centre we mill individual designs from blanks up to and including 24 inch.

  • Homologation included

Every wheel is tested for approval. Whether ABE without condition, ABE with condition A01 or component approval: we tell you before delivery what is required for your vehicle.

Wheel development in three steps

Know-how is required here, not least because of the comprehensive safety and testing requirements.

  1. 01

    Determining the application and design

Vehicle, purpose, brakes, bolt pattern and offset set the framework. On this basis the design is created with its contours and spokes.

  2. 02

    Manufacture and surface finishing

Low-pressure casting or flow forming for the collection, forged blanks for wheels such as the Monte Carlo F, CNC milling from the blank for small series. Coating in our own powder and wet paint facility.

  3. 03

    Homologation

Testing and approval documents for the respective vehicle, so that the wheel is approved for use on public roads under the StVZO.

Frequently asked questions about our wheels

You will find all the answers on complete wheels, shipping and accessories in our FAQ.

Do I have to have my wheels registered with the TÜV?

Every order is checked by our team for fit with the specified vehicle and for the corresponding TÜV approval. Depending on the type of approval document available, the following measures are required:

  • ABE without condition A01: in Germany no entry in the vehicle documents is required, and you do not have to go to the TÜV.
  • ABE with condition A01: according to the ABE approval document available to us, presentation at the TÜV is required. The inspector merely issues you with a fitting confirmation according to § 19 StVZO. An entry in the vehicle documents is not necessary.
  • Component approval (Teilegutachten): in Germany, presentation at the TÜV and an entry in the vehicle documents are required.

You will be informed of the relevant approval type by e-mail during the ordering process, once the order has been checked.

Will the wheels fit my brakes?

If all the brake components on your vehicle are original equipment, please refer to the freely accessible ABE or component approval documents. If a non-standard brake system is fitted, we draw the contour of the brake, place it within the contour of the wheel and check brake clearance. For this we send you a data sheet in advance for determining the brake contour, which you complete and return to us.

Do I have a warranty on the wheels?

We are convinced of the quality of our products. Unlike most wheel manufacturers, we grant a 24-month surface warranty on all products.

Which accessories are included?

The mounting hardware required for fitting (centring rings, wheel bolts or wheel nuts) is included in the scope of delivery and in the price, unless the wheel's approval document requires the use of the original equipment accessories. In this case you will be explicitly advised on the order confirmation or invoice to continue using the original fasteners. You can additionally order coloured adhesive weights, hidden valves and locking wheel bolts.

Can you build four individual wheels for my car?

In principle that would be possible, but such a project leads to extremely high costs per wheel. As a rule we develop customer wheels from a minimum quantity of 100. Compared with other suppliers, however, we can offer attractive prices even for small series, because we can mill wheels individually in-house from a blank.

Would you like to realise your own wheel project?

We look forward to your enquiry. The collection with application lists and approval documents is available in the online shop.
